

Actor Morgan Freeman was awarded an honorary award of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association - Cecil B. DeMille Award for contribution to cinema. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced about the award of Freeman Awards on Wednesday, November 9.
Morgan Freeman will receive the award January 15, 2012 at the 69th ceremony of "Golden Globe." Morgan Freeman nominated for the "Golden Globe" five times and once received this prestigious award in 1989 for starring in the movie "Driving Miss Daisy."
The actor also nominated five times for "Oscar", and once became the owner of an Academy Award in 2005 for the best supporting actor in the movie "Million Dollar Baby." According to the website IMDB, Morgan Freeman won 40 cinema awards.
In 2010, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded actor Robert De Niro of the Prize of Cecil De Mille. Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand, actress Shirley MacLaine were among other holders of honorary "Golden Globe." Actor and director Clint Eastwood who filmed "Million Dollar Baby", also awarded the prize.
